The Rummy & Cape Trib (19)

Day 138 Mon 08/27/2012
Pie Face

Sarah about to enjoy some Pie Face

I had to take Sarah to Pie Face this morning for some meat pies.  The mushy peas that come on top are pretty tasty.  We eat these pies on most Monday morning after a long night of running amuck in the city.
Pie Face
I pulled the trigger today on a dive camera as well today.  I bought the Olympus TG-1 waterproof camera with a waterproof dive housing as well.  This camera is double waterproof.  The camera alone is rated to 12 meters and with the dive housing it is rated to 40 meters.

Day 139 Tue 08/28/2012
First Trip with New Camera

This is the first trip where I had my own dive camera to try and start selling dive photos.  We saw some Spanish mackerel today along with a baby puffer.   I also managed to catch a fish on the way out to the reef.  My notes are not correct on what species it is.  Someone can tell me what it is.  It looks like a catfish mixed with a shark

Day 140 Wed 08/29/2012
Turtle & Cuttlefish

Cuttlefish
Today I managed to capture lots of turtle photos of my own.  We even came across a cuttlefish.  Sarah, Alice & I had very few divers on this trip so we were able to jump in for a fun dive wearing sunnies, hats, and had a go at drinking a beer underwater.

Day 141 Thur 08/30/2012
"Livin the Dream"
GIRLS Diving NUDE!

“Sarah & Alice had their naked dive today.  So funny!  Alice’s 100th dive was a few weeks ago.  On your hundredth dive you are suppose to go naked.  Today was Sarah’s actual 100th dive.  So I got them into the water in just their bikinis & they were going to ditch them during the dive.  I just got my new Olympus TG-1 underwater camera also so I gave it to them for the dive.
After they descended I got the attention of all the dudes on the boat, mostly Europeans.  The girls had the whole boat waiting for them when they surfaced behind the boat.  Gotcha!
I also saw my first nudibranch today.  My love for these sea slugs will grow soon.  They are so colorful & full of life.  Wicked!
We also found a lionfish today.  Sweet dives!  This one dive site called The Lagoon has a sea of giant clams.  Massive clams spread out across the ocean floor everywhere.  Beautiful site.”

Alice & Sarah are troopers
The girls had to know I would blow their cover on the nude dive.  I remember Richie telling us he was glad we were able to still get out and have a good time together and it wasn’t work yet.  Hell no it wasn’t work.  We were in the water every chance we had.  I honestly didn’t think I could embarrass these two girls the way they had acted a few times in the Woolshed, but I was wrong.  They turned bright red when they realized the whole boat was waiting for them to surface nude.  I didn’t feel bad at all though, because I knew they could handle it.  Great pics by the way ladies.  Bahahahaha!

As far as these nudi’s go (nudibranch) I think I was so excited about finding these because they are so small.  Having someone point one out to you is great.  They are very beautiful.  Finding one to show someone is what I love.  I have a hard time looking out into the distance for larger marine life like sharks while also looking nearby for such small sea slugs like these nudi’s.

Day 142 Fri 08/31/2012
Working on Mooring

“SHARK!  We saw a shark on the ocean floor today & I was able to snap a photo of it with one of our divers.  I also helped Jason work on one of our moorings on the reef today.”

Day 143 Sat 09/01/2012
”Ya Dreamin, Mate!”

“Dutch Princess, Patricia, came on this trip today.  Where to begin?  This morning we had this chik come onto the boat that was drop dead smoking hot gorgeous.  My first thought was “Not a chance!”  I’m pretty sure that our skipper, Richie, told me the exact same thing.  He told me to stop dreamin’.  So I stayed away from her today. Come to find out she’s not a boat person.  As the boat rocked that night she became somewhat seasick.  Well, Sarah & Alice moved her bed up to the top deck to help her sleep & told her that I would stay up with her if she needed someone.  Nice work, girls.  So I was kept awake most of the night with her feeling bad.
She never got sick, but if I nodded off for one second she would demand me to wake back up.  At some point in my sleepy state I just asked Patricia, “Would you be opposed to me kissing you?”
Who asks this?  What a dumbass!  She said “No”.  So I gave her a small smooch.  Boy was she mad.  I forgot to mention the she had been in Australia for 10 days now & the reason, well one reason, for her being here is to learn English.  She 100% misunderstood the question.  Whoops!”

Yea I worded the question completely ass backwards and she said “NO” as in don’t even think about kissing me, and of course I did it anyways thinking I had the green flag.  What dude asks a girl for a kiss anyways?  You just go for it.  I blame it on the lack of sleep from her demanding I stay awake in case she rolled off the deck into the water or something.  She acted mad, but I don’t think she was THAT mad about it.
On a side note Alice lead a group of rowdy divers today that were completely uninterested in following her or listening to any commands under water.  I was tailing the group taking photos, and at the end of the dive it was her and I at the boat performing our safety stop while the group was all about the water somehow lost.  We could see them just fine, but it was like all of them had blinders on.  I got a great shot of Alice throwing her hands above her head mouthing WTF.

Patricia & another guest tied up
(looks like rope was scarce)
As everyone was winding down after our night dive I had to break out the famous ROPE GAME and tie Patricia to some random other dude passenger on the boat.  Thanks to Captain Sam from Fair Wind Sailing down in Red Hook, St Thomas, for this great ice breaker of a game.  Too bad when we were sailing the Caribbean with him he tied me up to my brother, Daniel.  We never figured the game out wither until the little pride we brought with us was destroyed.  Anyways, the rope game always gets a few laughs and it is a great way to get a hot gal tied up to any random guy on the boat.  With a few Carlton beers and two short pieces of rope there was no telling where the night may lead.

Day 144 Sun 09/02/2012
Fin(s) Overboard

Last picture of the nice grey ladies fins with Patricia
The Dutch Princess of the trip has come out of the water ever time missing a fin.  Richie jokes and tells me to start charging her per fin.  If she doesn’t lose one in the process of getting into the water, then she loses one out there on the reef.  I took it upon myself to take her on a snorkel tour and just have an extra fin with me just in case.  We had two really nice pairs of women’s small fins that were in great shape at the beginning of this trip.  They are but donations to the sea now.

Day 145 Mon 09/03/2012
Cape Trib

The boat is getting some work done at the moment so we have a few trips off.

Jasper from the Netherlands & FIRE
“We’ve had a few days off from the boat, so Jasper (another Dutch mate living & working in Cairns) borrowed his flatmate Pete’s  van.  Patricia, Sarah, Alice, Jasper & I set off towards Port Douglas & Cape Tribulation.  This place is full of rainforest along the ocean located just north of Cairns.  Well we actually barely made it out of the city before we had car trouble.
We stopped at Woolworth’s to grab our food and drink for the trip.  When we got back to the van it wouldn’t start.  After 30 minutes of messing around with the motor I found the main wire on the distributor missing.  Easy!  I found the wire & hooked it back up.  Shizzzam!  Fixed & running
We camped on the beach & made a badass fire all night after our BBQ.  Good times.  Jasper & I kept a rockin fire!”

I believe we have pulled the main air compressor off of the boat for a rebuild.  We took advantage of this time to take a road trip to Cape Trib.  This was an awesome trip.  We started out slow with our Barbie at the pavilion, but after eating we grabbed all the camping gear and beers to take a walk down the beach.  We found a great spot to build a fire and set off for wood.  After many beers and creating the most massive fire we could Jasper decided it wasn’t big enough.  We had passed some sort of grass/leaf structure just down the beach from us.  Before I could ask where Jasper had snuck off to I hear his laugh yelling “Mate, check it out!”  Flames are 15 feet in the air as he is doing his fire dance.

Jasper again

By the time I got to my camera the flames had tied down to almost nothing in comparison to what it had started at.  Starting the beach fire prompted running out into the water time and time again with clothing being only an option for some.  We didn’t seem to know or worry about the water hosting crocodiles.  No wonder we were the only people out here on the beach raising hell, crocs had been known to come up in these parts and take people.  It must have been a rare event though, because usually in places where this happens there are signs posted everywhere warning people like us to stay out of the water and no camping at night.

Day 146 Tue 09/04/2012
Beach Antics

This sums up the trip.  :)
“The beaches are so beautiful.  We played in the water for hours.  My new camera became foggy with water.  What the hell?  Not cool.  Damn camera.  There was a bug museum that looked really cool but they wanted $10 each from us to go in.  None of us had any extra cash though.  How sad!  I snuck around the back to take a peek through the windows.  HUGE beetles & moths.  Then we went & ate ice cream.  So delicious!
We drove back to Cairns.  Sarah & Alice told me they had a surprise for me.  I’m scared. There’s no telling what mischief they’re up to.  I go hide at the front of the boat while they prepare this surprise.
“OK, we’re ready!” they yell up to me.
As I return I see them wearing American flag tights with red & white striped shirts chanting “USA, USA, USA, USA!”  Yea boi.  So they make me put on my USA rashie, jeans, and cowboy boots.  Out we go!”
Thanks for the fan Sketchy Pete ;)

We all woke up from our camping on the beach experience completely fine.  No crocs took any of the gals last night.  No croc would mess with coming near our fire, or Jasper.  I am pretty sure Jasper could wrestle a 12 meter croc into submission.  Right mate?  We took this opportunity to take some pictures of us out on the beach.  All I wanted was one good group picture of the five of us together with the beautiful scenery.  Before the timer on my camera would elapse, Sarah or Alice or both would do something ignorant and “mess up the photo”.  You can clearly see in the picture I chose as the best from the 10-20 we took I am annoyed with their antics.  It made the picture though, because they are screwing off again and I am trying to get them to act serious for one photo.

We tried to go on a crocodile tour boat, but by the time we had played on the beaches and relaxed all day the chance to do this excursion was far gone.  No one seemed too upset about this though.  We were going with the flow.
Back at the boat the girls were ready to take full advantage of a few more days off.  According to them, the boat hadn’t missed this many trips in ages.  They were fully prepared to go hit Cairns hard tonight.  The USA outfits they donned were completely ridiculous.  I finally had to tell them to cool it down a bit while we were out because other tourists were developing more hard feelings towards Americans by the way Sarah & Alice were acting.  Whether they were yelling quotes from Team America or trying to talk like rednecks they were not helping out my mission to show other travelers American’s are not stupid.  In this case thought he girls were 100% completely crazy drunk.  I will let the pictures speak for themselves.  Thanks for the support though girls.  Ya’ll are nuts!  J  USA!!!!!!!

Day 147 Wed 09/05/2012
TRAIN........
USA!

OK tonight is the crazy USA Party night with Sarah and Alice.

“Sarah & Alice have only a few trips left.  We have been spending some time in the marina on nights we are in port going back over knowledge reviews for diving.  When we are hanging out on the boat we usually have ice cream & tons of milk on hand to make MILKSHAKES.

WRECK!

Day 150 Sat 09/08/2012
Jase on Vocals

Skipper Jase on the Rummy
The boat is back up and going out this morning.  We had a good bunch yet again on the boat.  We got Jase to sing for us tonight.  One guest had a guitar so we drank beers and played tunes for the skipper to sing along with.  Our group consisted of Ben & Anna (ENG), Marcel & Kim (GER), Shelby (CAN), Pascal (Swiss), and Jimmy with the guitar.  These were some great certified divers yet again.

Day 151 Sun 09/09/2012
Date Night

Jasper, his date, Patricia, & I

“Tonight Jasper & I have hot dates.  Earlier he met this chik at the Lagoon who called him over thinking she knew him.  Mistaken identity, but he got her number.  I was taking Patricia.  Sunday night was usually our night to go out on the town because we had the day off on Monday.  Cheap drinks at the Pier Bar.  At some point we put Jasper’s date in a trolly.  Funny video.  Then Jasper bought a plastic ring and she made him propose to her.  (She said YES but soon after neither one recalled the beautiful moment – I have photo proof!).
Later when we got back to the Rum Runner I couldn’t keep Patricia from climbing on every boat in the Marlin Marina.  She even climbed up one of the towers on a fishing charter boat.  Soon we came across 2 Aussies drinking some beers on their fishing boat.  Patricia of course had to accept the offer from them to see their boat & have a beer.  They gave me a beer & hinted that I leave after a few minutes.
After another beer for myself I was able to get Patricia safely out of there.  Unreal.  What a pain in my ass.  Still gorgeous though.  It is such a pain in the butt having a date with you as hot as this in this place.  Patricia allows every dude to talk to her.  Whatever happened to “Hey, I’m with this guy here” or “my boyfriend just went to go get me another drink.”  If I went to the toilet it was guaranteed when I came back there would be 2-4 bogans talking to her, & all of them usually outweighed me by 40 lbs of muscle.

Define Bogan – an individual from an unsophisticated background OR someone whose limited education, speech, ATTITUDE and BEHAVIOR exemplifies a lack of manners.

After tonight though poor Patricia had a very hard time with her English homework the next day.  I didn’t have to punch any bogans tonight, but there is still a lot of time in Oz for that.”

I LOVE Australia
All I’m going to add to this is girls can be so helpful by not attracting dudes that are obviously stronger and more aggressive than the guy they are currently with.  However, I did have Jasper there for back up, so maybe he is the only reason one of these bogans didn’t just beat me up tonight.  Thanks Brah!  You are definitely out of time out for the help.

The next blog looks like more naked diving, more hot Dutch gals, Super Diver skills blind fold diving, and probably more beers, Nemos, and good mates!  L-I-V-I-N
